TSB Bank Festival of Lights
Sunday 18th December 2011 - 29th January 2012
Location : Pukekura Park. New Plymouth
Daytime activities for families and children include scavenger hunts, skateboarding events, magicians and more. Every night has the magical Park lit for your wonderment and joy and entertainment begining nightly from Monday 26th December with artists on the Hatchery Lawn Stage nightly as well as on the Fred Parker Lawn stage on the weekends. Te Kupenga Stone Sculpture Symposium
Tuesday 27th December - Saturday 21st December 2011
Location : 9.00am - 7.00pm daily just along from the Wind Wand.
See the transformation as large local boulders turn into beautiful works of art with chisels and angle grinders in the hands of 25 national and international sculptors. Entry is free and works will be auctioned on site on Saturday 21st January 2012

One of New Zealand's best recreational cycle events. All participants get a food and drink voucher. - Solo and relay teams - 148km.

Location : Ngamotu Beach
The Contact TriWoman is an all female triathlon series that's coming back to New Plymouth in January 2012. The Contact TriWoman Series is for all women, whether that's taking part in your first triathlon or taking on the challenge year on year. Enter as an individual, a mother and daughter team or take part with your workmates. Do a Duathlon instead. However you do it, you'll be a TriWoman by the end of the summer!
